Getting Started
Josh started climbing at the age of 14. He joined a climbing team and trained and competed for 5
years. Then suddenly stopped climbing due to a busy life and a full time job as an electrician. I
regret every second that I stopped, what was I thinking? Climbing is my life. Now that Josh has
been back in it for 4 years he can’t stop moving forward. With competition on his mind he trains
and pushes himself to complete exhaustion. Josh also continues to push himself outdoors with
his main focus on putting up FA’s and working on finding new problems and areas. He is
dedicated and ready to take on any adventure, comp or job in the climbing industry. Josh is
highly regarded in the world of route setting with his position at MetroRock and setting for Dark
Horse events.

Competing
Josh has been competing for 6 years and that comes with a focused approach to the sport. With
top finishes at indoor competition and attending World Cups across the globe, Josh has
represented the East coast try hard attitude. Top finishes include a 1st place at the UBC
Championship in 2012, 11th at ABS Nationals in 2012 that secured a spot on the US Climbing
team and traveled to World Cups all over. 19th place at the Vail Bouldering World Cup and top
ranked US male at the Canadian World Cup in 2011. With many other top 3 ranked comps Josh
is taking his competitions seriously with nutrition, a fitness trainer and a very planned schedule
for training.

Outdoors
With many 5.13's and V11's under Josh’s belt he is ready to push forward and challenge himself
with harder lines. Finding new unclimbed boulders is what gets Josh psyched. He loves FA’s
more than ticking off a “number” and with that comes newer and cooler lines in the New
England area. Josh’s approach to outdoor climbing is aggressive and tactful and he follows his
psych to the next adventure.

Future
Josh is based out of Boston, Ma and spends his time setting and coaching at MetroRock and
training for competitions. Josh also works for RockWerx (climbing wall design and construction)
and teaches climbing across the country. Future plans for 2013 include - traveling abroad to climb in the
bouldering World Cups and outdoors, FA’s in the northeast, video projects across the US and
many comps in the spring.
