Josh started climbing at the age of 14. He joined a climbing team and trained and competed for 4
years. Then suddenly stopped climbing due to a busy life and a full time job as an electrician.
But he needed to fill the void he was missing in his life at the time. Now that Josh has been back
in it for 5 years he can’t stop moving forward.
With competition and traveling to climb across the world always on his mind, he trains
and pushes himself until the time comes to take action. When he's not training, he is outdoors in search of new lines and areas in new england or where ever something new is to be discovered. Josh is highly regarded in the world of route setting and coaching with his previous head coaching position at MetroRock until Summer of 2015 and annually setting for The Dark Horse Competitions. Josh is based out of Boston, Ma and is co-owner at Cold House Media with Vince Schaefer.
This coming spring and summer Josh will attend 5 Bouldering World Cups, U.S and CAN. Adult Bouldering Nations, he will be developing new climbing ares in Wyoming and Puerto Rico, climbing and living in France for 3 months and traveling all in between to guest set/coach. He will also help coach the Youth World Championship in Arco, Italy for the U.S. Youth Team. When the Fall rolls around, Josh will head back to Puerto Rico for two months and continue to develop bouldering, deep water soling and routes with the radical locals on the island.
Josh has been competing for 6 years and that comes with a focused approach to the sport. With
top finishes at indoor competition and attending World Cups across the globe - Josh has
represented the East coast try hard attitude. Josh is just about 30 years young now and he feels a few more years of strong competition will be just right for him. He didn't get the early start some did, but now with years of experience and more time than ever to train and focus, he hopes for a good ending in near future. But he doesn't really know when he might stop.
