Josh started climbing at the age of 14. He joined a climbing team and trained and competed for 4
years. Then suddenly stopped climbing due to a busy life and a full time job as an electrician.
But he needed to fill the void he was missing in his life at the time. Now that Josh has been back
in it for 5 years he can’t stop moving forward.
With competition and traveling to climb across the world always on his mind, he trains
and pushes himself every week. When he's not training, he is outdoors in search of new lines and areas in new england or where ever something new is to be discovered. Josh is highly regarded in the world of route setting and coaching with his Head coach position at MetroRock and setting for Dark
Horse Competitions. Josh is based out of Boston, Ma and is co-owner at Cold House Media with Vince Schaefer.
Josh has been competing for 5 years and that comes with a focused approach to the sport. With
top finishes at indoor competition and attending World Cups across the globe, Josh has
represented the East coast try hard attitude.
Some top finishes include:
1st place at the UBC Championship in 2012
3rd place at the 2014 Canadian Bouldering Nationals
12th place finish at 2014 IFSC Bouldering World Cup in Vail, CO.
13th at ABS Nationals in 2014
19th at the Vail Bouldering World Cup in 2012
Top ranked US male (23rd overall) at the Canadian World Cup in 2011.
Josh is ready to push forward and challenge himself this coming year
with harder lines. Finding new unclimbed boulders is what gets Josh psyched. He loves FA’s
more than ticking off a number and with that comes newer and cooler lines in the New
England area. Josh’s approach to outdoor climbing is aggressive and tactful and he follows his
psych to the next adventure.
Josh is based out of Boston, Ma and spends his time coaching the very talented MetroRock team, traveling as much as possible, climbing outside and
training for competitions. He is always in search of new lines in the New England area and get psyched on the adventure that goes into finding, cleaning and establishing a new line. Josh works part time for Rockwerx and teaches climbing across the country and is co-owner at Cold House Media with Vince Schaefer.
